Checking In: South of France Edition
I’ve planned South of France itineraries for clients —but this summer, I’m finally going for myself. It’s my first time, and I want to do it right: a few iconic stops, a few personal wish-list hotels, and enough down time to enjoy it.
Here’s what the trip looks like:
Cannes (1 night)
Staying in: An apartment
I’m starting the trip in Cannes, meeting up with my husband who’ll have just wrapped up Cannes Lions. We’re keeping it simple —no need for a full hotel check-in when we’re heading out the next morning. The plan: crash his work dinner, a walk along the Croisette, and maybe a little rosé-fueled debrief before the real vacation begins.
St-Tropez (4 nights)
Hotel: Lou Pinet
This is where the trip really kicks off. I wanted a hotel that felt stylish but still relaxed—and Lou Pinet struck the right balance. It’s tucked slightly outside the chaos, beautifully designed, and from everything I’ve heard, exactly the kind of place where long poolside lunches just happen. I’m curious to see how St-Tropez feels in real life. I’m going in open—but opinionated.
Provence (2 nights)
Hotel: Villa La Coste
This one’s been on my radar for years. Clean architecture, contemporary art, and that quiet Provence rhythm—I’m hoping it’s as grounding as it looks. It’s a short stay, but I’m planning to lean all the way in: no rushing, no scheduling, just good food, a slow pace, and (hopefully) a serious reset.
Cap-Ferrat (1 night)
Hotel: Four Seasons Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat
Ending on a high note. I’ve booked one night here for the full Riviera finale—legendary views, iconic service, and a proper reason to order champagne before noon. Just one night, but I already know it’ll be a core memory.
The Edit
I’ll be sharing the full rundown as I go—what’s worth it, what’s not, and what I’d do differently next time. This isn’t a guidebook. It’s the real version of the trip: curated, candid, and completely unfiltered.
If you’re planning a South of France escape, stay tuned.
